The European Defence Agency has selected Survey Copter to explore development of a hybrid unmanned aircraft for multi-role missions across Europe. The concept will build on Airbus’ Capa-X drone platform and is intended to support surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, payload delivery, and autonomous aerial refueling. The study is part of the Multi-Mission Unmanned Aircraft System initiative and will run for 48 months. With a budget of roughly 1.1 million euros, the project aims to examine design options and operational roles for a versatile next-generation European drone platform.
