Perennial Autonomy has won a US military contract worth up to $500 million to provide AI-enabled counter-drone systems for deployed forces. The agreement includes platforms such as the Merops interceptor drone, Bumblebee quadcopter, and Hornet strike drone, all designed to detect, track, and neutralize aerial threats. The systems combine computer vision, radio-frequency sensing, and jam-resistant communications to operate effectively in complex combat environments. The contract reflects the Pentagon’s growing focus on AI-powered counter-UAS technologies as drone threats continue to evolve rapidly across modern battlefields.
