Quantum Systems and Rohde & Schwarz have announced a partnership to integrate advanced SIGINT capabilities onto tactical unmanned aerial vehicles. The collaboration aims to bring sophisticated electronic intelligence collection to smaller UAV platforms traditionally reserved for larger aircraft such as the RC-135, MQ-9 Reaper, and RQ-4 Global Hawk. SIGINT systems intercept and analyze radar emissions, military communications, and electronic signals from hostile systems. Under the agreement, a Rohde & Schwarz payload will be integrated onto a German-made tactical UAV for the first time, enabling flexible airborne reconnaissance and electronic surveillance operations closer to frontline battlefields. The initiative highlights the growing importance of unmanned platforms in electronic warfare and intelligence-gathering missions.
