The UK Ministry of Defence has cleared the Ajax armoured vehicle program to resume testing following a comprehensive safety review. Trials were paused in 2025 after soldiers reported health issues such as nausea and hearing discomfort during exercises. Investigations revealed no single root cause, attributing the symptoms to combined factors including environmental conditions, training variations, and technical elements, while confirming noise and vibration levels were within legal thresholds. Testing will restart in phases with enhanced safeguards. The £6 billion Ajax program, led by General Dynamics, aims to deliver over 500 advanced reconnaissance vehicles to replace legacy tracked systems. Each vehicle features a 40mm cannon, advanced sensors, and high mobility supported by an 800-horsepower engine.
