KNDS is seeking to significantly shorten the development timeline for future wheeled combat vehicles with its newly revealed CELERIS 8×8 platform. Unveiled at MSPO 2026 in Poland, the system is designed as a military-grade mobility foundation that could allow next-generation armoured vehicle programmes to move from concept to a developed platform in less than 12 months. The CELERIS architecture incorporates the principal technologies required for an 8×8 vehicle chassis while leaving the platform adaptable for the installation of armour, weapon systems, sensors and other mission equipment. This approach is intended to provide customers with a flexible baseline that can be configured according to different operational requirements.KNDS is positioning the platform as a way to reduce the time traditionally required to develop new armoured vehicles. Rather than designing an entirely new vehicle architecture for every programme, CELERIS provides a common foundation that can be adapted to different battlefield roles. The company believes this could accelerate the introduction of future wheeled combat systems.
