Sweden has signed a pre-design contract worth 335 million kronor ($37.8 million) with HB Utveckling AB—a BAE Systems Hagglunds and Bofors joint venture—to initiate a life-extension program for all CV90 variants. The effort includes technical upgrade development, prototype production, equipment procurement, and preparation for full-scale production through 2031. The objective is to keep the CV90 fleet operational until at least 2045. This move complements Sweden’s broader armored modernization strategy, including orders for 94 additional Patria 6×6 vehicles and upgrades to Leopard 2 tanks under multiple contracts.
