The Pakistan Navy has formally inducted three 2400 TD hovercraft into its Marine Corps, significantly enhancing mobility and operational reach across the challenging creek zones of southern Sindh. This induction marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s ongoing naval modernization and coastal defense efforts, aimed at strengthening rapid-response and amphibious operations in difficult littoral terrain.
The induction ceremony took place in the Creeks Area, where Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral reviewed forward posts and assessed combat readiness. According to official statements from the Pakistan Navy, the 2400 TD hovercraft will serve as a key asset for patrolling shallow estuaries, tidal flats, and mangrove-lined coastlines, areas where conventional boats face severe mobility challenges.
With the addition of the 2400 TD series, Pakistan’s Marines gain a versatile platform capable of swift insertion and extraction missions, surveillance, and coastal defense operations. The craft’s ability to operate over mud, sand, and shallow waters allows security forces to rapidly deploy personnel and equipment even in areas lacking infrastructure.
This development reinforces the Navy’s strategy to modernize littoral warfare capabilities, improve maritime domain awareness, and ensure greater operational flexibility along Pakistan’s southern coastline. It reflects Islamabad’s commitment to advancing indigenous and imported technologies to secure its coastal borders and maritime economic zones.
