The Netherlands has chosen the F21 heavyweight torpedo as the primary underwater weapon for its future Orka-class submarines. Developed by Naval Group, the F21 combines anti-ship and anti-submarine capabilities within a single advanced design, featuring long-range engagement, deep-water operation, and high-speed performance. Alongside the torpedoes, the program includes training systems, simulation capabilities, and long-term sustainment support. The acquisition strengthens the Royal Netherlands Navy’s underwater warfare capabilities while enhancing interoperability with advanced NATO maritime operations.
