Taiwan has commissioned Dan Chiang, the latest Tuo Chiang-class stealth corvette developed under its indigenous naval shipbuilding program. The vessel joins the Republic of China Navy as part of efforts to strengthen coastal defense and maritime deterrence. Featuring a stealthy catamaran hull, high-speed propulsion, and advanced missile systems, the corvette is designed for operations in Taiwan’s surrounding waters. It carries Hsiung Feng III supersonic anti-ship missiles, air-defense weapons, and precision-guided systems. The commissioning supports Taiwan’s broader naval modernization strategy, including additional frigates, expanded missile production, and increased domestic shipbuilding capability.
