South Korea has unveiled the prototype of its next-generation KAAV II amphibious assault vehicle, developed by Hanwha Aerospace to replace the aging KAAV-7A1 fleet. Designed for modern littoral and expeditionary warfare, the platform combines improved sea mobility, enhanced survivability, and upgraded battlefield awareness systems. Armed with a 40mm automatic cannon capable of engaging drones, light armor, and fortified positions, the KAAV II represents a major leap in offensive capability and operational flexibility for South Korean amphibious forces.
