Oshkosh Defense has secured a second direct order from Morocco for heavy military transport equipment, expanding the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces’ ability to move armored and other heavy tactical vehicles. The Wisconsin-based company will supply 50 HET A1 Heavy Equipment Transporter tractors under a follow-on package arranged through Moroccan industry partner Optimum Vehicle Logistics.The order also covers 50 MN573 heavy-duty trailers produced in cooperation with Dutch specialty vehicle manufacturer Broshuis BV. The procurement follows Morocco’s initial 2024 purchase of an undisclosed number of HET A1 tractors. Those vehicles have already been delivered and fielded by the North African country.The HET A1 is designed specifically for transporting heavy tactical platforms, including main battle tanks, across operational theaters. Its cab can accommodate up to six personnel and includes air conditioning and modular crew protection technology.Power comes from a 700-horsepower Caterpillar C18 engine coupled to an Allison 4800SP transmission. The vehicle also carries two winches, each capable of pulling up to 55,000 pounds (24,948 kilograms), providing additional recovery and heavy-load handling capability.
