PERCH 2.0 Gives Abrams Tanks and Stryker Vehicles a New Strike Option — The US Army’s M1A2 Abrams main battle tanks and Stryker 8×8 armored fighting vehicles are set to gain an additional capability against modern battlefield threats through the PERCH 2.0 system. Standing for Precision Effects & Reconnaissance, Canister-Housed, PERCH 2.0 is a bolt-on launcher designed to be installed without making permanent changes to a vehicle’s hull. Developed jointly by General Dynamics Land Systems and AeroVironment, the system allows crews to launch Switchblade loitering munitions from beneath the protection of the vehicle’s armor, enabling them to employ these weapons without exposing themselves outside the vehicle.
