Saab and Poland’s PGZ Group have signed a broader naval cooperation agreement covering submarines, underwater systems, surface vessels, and maritime lifecycle support. The partnership includes plans to integrate PGZ naval companies into Saab’s supply chain, evaluate joint export opportunities, and cooperate on technologies such as autonomous underwater systems and heavyweight torpedoes. The companies also intend to establish an Underwater Technology Centre in Poland to strengthen local maritime defense capabilities. The agreement builds on previous cooperation related to Poland’s Orka submarine modernization program and reflects Warsaw’s wider strategy of expanding industrial partnerships with European defense firms to strengthen domestic naval production and technological independence.
