Naval Group has launched the HS Formion (F-603), the third vessel in Greece’s Kimon-class frigate program, during a ceremony held at the French port of Lorient. This event marked the ship’s transition into the water for the first time, moving it into its final outfitting and systems integration phase.
The frigate now carries the Panoramic Sensors and Intelligence Module (PSIM), alongside its integrated steel mast—critical components for enabling comprehensive sea surveillance and mission coordination. Once completed, the ship will add to the Hellenic Navy’s fleet of next-generation surface combatants, enhancing maritime awareness and regional defense capabilities.
