Lockheed Martin’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) prototype was successfully tested during the Balikatan 2026 military exercise involving US and Philippine forces. The advanced system integrates sensor data, airspace management, and fires coordination into a unified digital network designed to accelerate battlefield decision-making. During live-fire operations, the system linked Apache helicopters, HIMARS launchers, artillery, and mortars while providing real-time targeting and battle damage assessments. The distributed architecture allowed command nodes in the Philippines, Hawaii, and the US mainland to maintain a shared operational picture without relying on a centralized command center. The project reflects growing US efforts to develop distributed warfare networks for Indo-Pacific operations while improving interoperability with allied forces in future multi-domain conflicts.
