RTX’s Raytheon has been awarded a $3.7 billion contract to supply additional GEM-T interceptors for Ukraine’s Patriot air defense systems. These interceptors are designed to strengthen protection against a broad spectrum of aerial threats, including tactical ballistic missiles. Manufacturing will be carried out in Germany through the COMLOG joint venture with MBDA Deutschland. Ukraine currently operates roughly 10 Patriot batteries, consisting of around 60 launchers and 600 missiles. Since deployment began in 2023, the Patriot system has become a cornerstone of Ukraine’s defensive infrastructure and is widely used across 19 nations.
