Estonia has signed a follow-on agreement with South Korea for three additional K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems, expanding an earlier acquisition that included six launchers and several missile types. The systems are intended to complement Estonia’s growing HIMARS inventory as Tallinn strengthens long-range precision strike capabilities amid regional security concerns. Developed by Hanwha Aerospace, the Chunmoo system uses a highly mobile 8×8 chassis and supports multiple rocket and missile calibers, including guided rockets and tactical ballistic missiles with ranges extending to 290 kilometers. The launcher’s modular dual-pod design enables flexible mission loadouts, while rapid salvo capability and networked targeting improve battlefield responsiveness. Estonia’s continued investment reflects broader NATO efforts to expand long-range artillery and integrated firepower across Eastern Europe.
