MBDA and Safran Electronics & Defense are nearing final negotiations to develop THUNDART, a next-generation long-range strike system intended to modernize France’s land-based precision fire capabilities. Designed to engage targets at distances of up to 150 kilometers, the system incorporates advanced propulsion, guidance, and navigation technologies optimized for contested electronic warfare environments. Emphasizing sovereign French industrial capability, THUNDART aims to provide resilient long-range fires while reducing dependence on foreign technologies and supporting future battlefield requirements.
