Italy has chosen the German-made Skynex air defense system to bolster its aerial defense infrastructure. Rheinmetall, the system’s producer, confirmed a €73 million ($75 million) contract for a complete setup, which will serve as a pilot project for the Italian Army. The package comprises a radar and tracking unit, a command center, four 35mm gun stations, as well as ammunition, spare parts, training, and maintenance support.
