Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $24.9-million contract by the US Department of Defense to support research and development for an autonomous undersea sensing program. Known as the Full Spectrum Undersea Warfare Innovative Naval Prototype, the project focuses on improving the Navy’s threat detection under water through enhanced sonar technologies, advanced algorithms, and new sensor solutions.
