The Turkish Ministry of Defence has launched the TCG Murat Reis (S-332), the third of six planned Reis-class submarines. The ceremony took place at Gölcük Naval Shipyard and coincided with two significant national celebrations—the anniversaries of the Conquest of Istanbul and the Turkish Air Force. Built on the German Type 214 platform, the program’s progression includes a new submarine launch each year. The rollout of TCG Murat Reis follows the successful commissioning of the first boat and sea trials of the second, reflecting steady advancement in Turkey’s undersea warfare capabilities.
