Saudi Arabia has entered into a new agreement with Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to build three additional Avante 2200 corvettes. This follows a prior 2022 deal for five vessels. Under the new contract, one corvette will be constructed in Spain, while the remaining two will be built in Saudi Arabia. The deal also covers logistics, system testing, performance assessments, and training of Saudi engineers.
