The U.S. State Department has approved a proposed $3.64 billion sale of AMRAAM missiles to Japan. The deal includes 1,200 AIM-120D-3 and AIM-120C-8 missiles, as well as several guidance units—20 for the D-3 variant and four for the C-8—featuring Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) or M-Code GPS systems. This package aims to bolster Japan’s air defense capabilities.
