In support of Canada’s naval expansion, Rolls-Royce has agreed to deliver propulsion systems for the initial batch of River-class destroyers. These advanced systems are intended to boost both speed and efficiency at sea.
Included in the delivery are the MT30 marine turbine, the Mission Bay Handling System, and diesel generators from the MTU Series 4000 line. The turbine and bay handling systems are being provided through a contract with shipbuilder Irving Shipbuilding, while Rolls-Royce’s Canadian partner, Wajax Power Systems, is in the process of finalizing the diesel power supply deal.
