Greece has selected Thales to modernize the Hellenic Navy’s Hydra-class frigates through a comprehensive mid-life upgrade program. The modernization includes the installation of the Tacticos combat management system, NS100 AESA radar, and STIR fire-control sensors to improve target tracking, situational awareness, and combat effectiveness. The upgrade is intended to extend the operational life of the MEKO 200-based frigates while improving their capability against modern naval threats. Thales will also work with local industry partners to support long-term sustainment and operational readiness of the fleet.
