L3Harris Technologies has entered a multiyear agreement with the US Navy to expand manufacturing capacity for components used in Tomahawk cruise missiles. The agreement with the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake supports production of critical components as the Navy increases its investment in key munitions. L3Harris has contributed to Tomahawk production for more than three decades, including the Mk 135 solid-propellant booster and blast-fragmentation warhead. The company has not disclosed the contract value or the exact increase in production. The Tomahawk is a long-range precision-strike missile launched from US Navy ships and submarines. Its Block Va variant has also added a maritime-strike role. The Navy’s fiscal 2027 budget request includes $1.52 billion for Tomahawk modifications, while Raytheon received a $22.9-billion contract in August to accelerate production. Existing missiles are also undergoing upgrades under the Block V program, including improvements to navigation, communications and targeting capabilities.
