A £12 million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence has been awarded to Amentum UK to spearhead the development of a hypersonic missile demonstrator.
The program will conclude with flight trials of a system intended to mature into a Mach 5-plus prototype capable of enduring extreme temperatures and structural stress.
Amentum UK, together with Ebeni and Synthetik Applied Technologies UK Ltd, will execute the design phase under the Team Hypersonics (UK) initiative, aligned with Britain’s goal of fielding hypersonic strike weapons within the next several years.
