Hungary has completed the expansion of its Saab Gripen fleet following the delivery of its final Gripen C fighter aircraft under a 2024 acquisition contract. The additions increase the country’s operational fleet to 18 Gripen C/D fighters, strengthening national air-defense capabilities while enhancing NATO interoperability and regional security operations.Capable of speeds up to Mach 2 and equipped with advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems, the Gripen remains one of Europe’s most versatile multirole fighters. The aircraft supports air policing, interception, reconnaissance, and precision strike missions while offering exceptional operational flexibility for modern combat environments.
