Germany’s arms procurement agency has contracted Turbo-Technik to integrate the NH90 Sea Tiger naval helicopter onto F124-class frigates, supporting the German Navy’s transition away from its aging Sea Lynx Mk88A fleet. The work includes structural modifications to frigate flight decks and hangars, as well as installation of maintenance, operational, and systems interfaces required for helicopter deployment at sea. The NH90 Sea Tiger, procured under a 2.7-billion-euro program, is equipped with advanced anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare systems, including torpedoes, missiles, dipping sonar, and sonobuoy suites. Additional electro-optical sensors and reconnaissance systems enhance maritime surveillance and target acquisition capabilities. The integration effort strengthens Germany’s naval aviation modernization while improving maritime warfare and fleet protection capabilities.
