The US Army is testing new capabilities for its H-60M Black Hawk helicopters by integrating next-generation unmanned systems into their operations. Footage released by Anduril Industries showed a Black Hawk launching several Altius-700M launched effects during a demonstration. The unmanned systems autonomously engaged and struck both stationary and moving targets, highlighting the potential for helicopters to deploy autonomous systems against different types of battlefield objectives. The testing was conducted during Project Convergence Capstone 6, a major US Army experimentation effort focused on integrating emerging technologies and improving operational capabilities. The activity formed part of a three-day flight campaign conducted over the Mojave Desert at Fort Irwin, California. The demonstration reflects the Army’s broader effort to combine crewed aircraft with unmanned systems and autonomous launched effects.
