To ensure the long-term readiness of its anti-tank capabilities, the US Army is moving forward with a new logistics support program for the TOW Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS). Raytheon has been identified as the preferred contractor because of its extensive technical knowledge and experience with the system. The agreement will focus on maintenance, replacement components, technical assistance, logistics coordination, and operational support for US forces, the Marine Corps, and international partners. The upgraded ITAS enables operators to identify and engage armored threats more effectively using advanced thermal sensors, digital targeting technology, and laser rangefinding. Combined with the battle-proven TOW missile, the system continues to provide reliable anti-armor capability across a wide range of combat environments.
