As part of the ongoing High-Speed Maneuverable Missile (HSMM) initiative, Anduril Industries’ Barracuda-100M AAV has cleared a major developmental hurdle with a series of successful flight demonstrations for the US Army’s DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center. Conducted in May 2025, the tests verified the system’s high-speed performance and its ability to execute complex aerial maneuvers, reinforcing its position within a new class of agile, precision-guided strike weapons envisioned by the HSMM program.

The platform’s strength lies in its intelligent targeting and maneuverability. Outfitted with the Precision Target Acquisition Seeker (PTAS), the Barracuda-100M can autonomously identify and track targets using an LWIR camera that matches real-time visual data with stored target images. The PTAS, combined with Anduril’s Lattice autonomy software, enables the missile to dynamically respond to changing mission scenarios in-flight. Designed with affordability and scalability in mind, the Barracuda-100M represents the next wave in autonomous, high-speed cruise missile technology.
