Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited has achieved a significant milestone by delivering the Pinaka Enhanced Mk-I rocket system to the Indian Army, marking the first such contribution from the private sector. This upgraded system extends its operational range to 45–60 kilometers, enhancing its ability to conduct deep-strike missions while maintaining safe standoff distances. Despite the increased range, the system retains its core function as a high-volume area saturation weapon, capable of delivering rapid and concentrated firepower. A single launcher can deploy a full salvo of rockets within seconds, while a battery formation can neutralize large target zones effectively. The integration of advanced technologies such as automated targeting and positioning systems significantly reduces response time and improves operational efficiency. This development underscores India’s push toward self-reliance in defense manufacturing and highlights the growing role of private industry in delivering advanced military solutions.
