DRDO’s Phase-3 Ballistic Missile Defence programme focuses on developing advanced interceptor systems to counter future threats such as hypersonic weapons and MIRV-equipped missiles. The programme represents a major evolution from earlier missile defence efforts. New interceptor concepts such as AD-AH and AD-AM are designed to improve India’s ability to detect, track, and neutralize highly advanced missile threats. The initiative focuses on faster interception, improved target discrimination, and stronger layered defence capability.
