L3Harris has awarded CPI Aerostructures a $13.6 million contract to manufacture airborne pod structures for the US Navy’s Next-Generation Jammer-Low Band (NGJ-LB) program. The contract exceeds the previously announced undefinitized agreement valued at up to $12.1 million. The NGJ-LB system is designed to replace the aging AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System currently deployed on EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft. CPI Aero’s pod structures will support L3Harris in delivering operational prototype systems to Naval Air Systems Command for fleet evaluation, testing, and airworthiness certification. Built around a modular open-system architecture, NGJ-LB will enable improved electronic attack capabilities while allowing future technology upgrades. L3Harris is responsible for delivering eight operational prototype pods and four test systems under the Engineering and Manufacturing Development program.
