The US Air Force has awarded StandardAero a contract to deploy its Maintenance Insight predictive analytics software for F100-220 engines powering more than 175 F-15 combat aircraft. This makes the F100-220 the fifth military propulsion system supported by the Arizona-based company’s proprietary software. Hosted within the military cloud environment, the platform applies artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital twin technology to identify potential equipment failure modes. Its real-time analysis helps aircrews plan preventive maintenance, determine the required scope of work and improve operational readiness. StandardAero has previously developed diagnostic models for the T56 engines used in C-130 Hercules transports, J85 engines powering T-38 Talon trainers, TF33 engines on B-52 Stratofortress bombers and TF39 engines in C-5 Galaxy airlifters. Other engine programmes: The contract follows the company’s selection for a $343 million project providing comprehensive T56 engine services for US Air Force C-130 aircraft and foreign military sales customers. In July, StandardAero partnered with GE Aerospace to assemble and maintain CT7 engines intended for the UK Armed Forces’ incoming New Medium Helicopters. The company also performs long-term engine repair and overhaul for the US Navy’s amphibious hovercraft fleet.
