HAL to Showcase Larger CATS-Warrior and Redesigned Hunter at Aero India 2027 — Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is preparing to present an updated Combat Air Teaming System portfolio at Aero India 2027, highlighting India’s efforts to develop manned-unmanned combat capabilities. The main attraction is expected to be CATS-Warrior Phase-II, a larger loyal-wingman aircraft with a wider fuselage and increased internal payload capacity. Its proposed internal weapons bay could support strike missions while preserving a low-observable configuration, and HAL illustrations have shown a potential BrahMos-NG integration. The original Phase-I variant is also expected to appear carrying an externally mounted Astra air-to-air missile. Meanwhile, CATS-Hunter has undergone a redesign as a proposed air-breathing stealth cruise missile. Several performance and propulsion details across the portfolio remain undisclosed.
